How EDM Is Killing Us....Question Mark.

Of course, we live in a world driven by tech but I’m quite sure your dad or mom did not copulate with a computer to produce you(unless...). The same way music was intended to be played on instruments rather than your sick, emotion-less computers. I mean, just because they’re out of their time, why should we even bother to look at Jimmy page, Hendrix or Clapton now? They were idiots, weren’t they? For spending years of their lives creating legendary tracks and having a life worth living. A life not automated by your tech shit.

Music is not just synthesis rehearse. I could count the vision too, with one person along with music, tapes, and recordings. You know singing (what? Fart noises), speaking and using machines. But is that music actually worth it? Taking two or more ALREADY RECORDED tracks, merging them at different intervals, applying filters at different points of times, creating loops worth a second or two and telling everybody that a laptop/computer and a pair of good headphones is all you need to make music? Well, yeah! For sure, because guitars, drums, cellos and every other instrument was made to just be used as a sample in a DAW for creating a few minutes of what had absolutely no brainstorming, or “work” involved? Or, shall i say, only "work" was involved?

First off, stop calling yourselves musicians, you sick pieces of computer freaks. Instead of spending time on software and automated material, try to learn to code or at least pick up a fucking instrument and get some real hands on to actually get a taste of what real music sounds like. It would be much appreciated if you actually knew what you were doning, inside-out. Need something to drive you crazy? Pick up a saxophone or buy a drum kit and get a taste of how reality sounds like. Want to experience real eargasms? Just a normal sine-bass (I hope you know what it means, if you don’t. I’m sorry, you suck as a producer.) Is never gonna work for that. Ever wondered what fender is? Gibson, Pearl? Anyone? No? I have a high enough rooftop, and you’re totally welcome. If you’re afraid to jump, let me have a hand in your fate.

I am not being paid for writing this (but you still suck) but what I hate about you people is that you think not knowing how to play any instrument and calling yourself a musician is ok. No, you don’t make music, you jizzhead! You take just a couple of algorithms, created by someone else, not even knowing what’s going on, hitting random keys on your motherfucking keyboard, and telling yourself “yeah! That sounds good! Its music!”(it does sound good sometimes, but not mostly. Most of them out there have no idea of whats happening on the back-end. This is what sucks even more. People have spent years to geet to perfection of the softwares we use today. We simply cant have 'no-idea' of it.) You fuckface, you don’t even know how to hold a motherfucking guitar and you think youre a musician? To hell with you and your sick piece of shit.
But you know what, you are not the one to be blamed. I like EDM too. But the sheer fact of focus on bringing everything at ease is simply ruining our time, money, brains and emotions. A student from 8th standard, feels like a girl’s magnet just because he is able to produce “music” like Martin Garrix. And he considers himself a musician, while he hasn’t even seen or heard Martin Garrix play an instrument (I loved your Instagram post!). He dominates his elder brother, who is in 2nd year of college just because he is proud of his “art”. A fresher in my college, who happens to be a producer himself, was asked the question “what instruments do you play?” “Keys.” Was his answer to which he was questioned if he meant the piano. He answered that he was a producer and he meant the keyboard on his laptop -_________- . I happened to ask him why he not played any instrument. And “what’s the need to?” was his answer. Don’t get me wrong. Not that I care, but you need to know how important music is. And I mean music, not the same bass drum or synth and patterns in every freaking track. You need to know what riffs, bridge and chorus are instead of using the same snare build up with pitch increment and then a drop. And what more? Copy the track from the beginning till the end of the drop, and paste it after the end of the drop. You have a track? No! It takes fucking effort to write lyrics and riffs over instruments and that dedicated time, interest and emotion that totally lacks in your “music”.

You don’t even know what’s going on behind your synth and yet you think you’re a great musician(or technician, i must say)? Do you know about co-ordination? How four (considering a band of 4) or more musicians combine to make a beautifully crafted piece of true dedication? True art? You need to understand why this is a thing of concern to everyone. People are losing art in the hands of technology and something that is not true in the form that we see it, or need to look at it. Using the same software someone else does too in a little different resonating amount does not make you a musician. It does not ease your mind. Ever wondered what your brain is when you’re playing an instrument? There’s literally fireworks going on in your brain. Whenever i am in an emotionally unstable or overloaded state, I make music or at least try to, when I feel like. And never have I ever recorded myself being eased off by my synths or beats as much as I have felt in true love with my guitar and bass. As a matter of fact, I have always been negative whenever I have tried to produce rather than play.

Im not saying that electronic music is bad, or is not good at all. Even I am an electronic musician in the making. But I think its unfair, to the musicians, as well as the coders of out software synthesizers that we, as consumers, as musicians are not respecting them enough. People are losing art in the hands of things they have absolutely NO idea about. Moreover, we are becoming business people instead of artists, and this needs to be controlled right now. I dont see a good future of artists if this keeps going on as it is right now. If it makes the picture clearer to you, you are losing 'you' in this.

There is a huge difference people. A whole different dimensional world is being given up for the sake of ease.
What would you like more? An 18 year old, playing pre-recorded tracks at different intervals or the same 18 year old putting everything he has, every bit of himself, blowing your minds with his amazing instruments, including his own production? And of course, live. You simply see what takes more out and in to a person. Or must I say, what kind of music. Of course, there is a reason why people like the famous DJs and artists are where they are. But then, there is also a reason why the DJs are not called Artists.
