The Correct Arrangement

THE CORRECT ARRANGEMENT
(Lakshay Raja)

A sane human mind shall acquire a uniform knowledge and understanding of the world around him, despite him being under any environment and circumstances. The one in a dark prison cell concludes equally in a period of time as the one working with the best minds. Thoughts, however discrete are information, be it in our standards, bizarre - ‘Imagining the origin of each mark on a prison wall’ or scientific and useful - ‘Understanding the infant universe, right after the big bang’. It is our interest in different affairs that leaves most of them still incomplete and questionable, with a gap, the religion claims to fill. A revenge over something demands an equal science as in a ‘moon landing’.

Seven wise men might plant some ‘wisdom’ (in our code of behaviour) to a ‘dull’ mind, yet the two of them would try, the two would shrug off and the rest would leave it to an unexplained phenomenon. The impact of the behaviour of the seven wise men on the dull mind shall always be same, despite the men reacting in any arrangement, though only one of it would leave no space to imperfection (again, in our code of behaviour). The point being, the science of each phenomenon or behaviour or a disease seems understandable in a right arrangement of thinking. The prisoners won’t sit to analyse the atomic behaviours and the gossipers around me won’t stand to demolish terrorism. The correct arrangement shall wait to be clicked.

Library Of Babel

LIBRARY OF BABEL
(Shreshtha)

An intelligent civilisation marks its existence in time. Be it through the manuscripts or pictography, its the information that matters, its the information to be preserved and passed on. Though when the civilisation wipes out, its not the books that speak, its not books that sends the signal out there in space, “visit us, we existed”. It must be the civilisation itself. If only there were a way to send all our manuscripts and books, or even this article, or what you would say the next second, deep into outer space. Or is there?

The above is a link to one of the most bizarre things on internet, the LIBRARY OF BABEL, a website that looks and sounds like any other e-library, except that its enormous. In what ways? Well, the The Library of Babel has anything ever written and would ever be written. Anything. I mean it, the library means it.

To have a brief idea of what it hides, the website has a total of ten to the power two hundred and fifty five pages, filled with everything ever said by anybody, this article, the book you read last night or even your first reaction to this article.

Sit back, browse and search anything, it has all.

Any information on the internet to its root is in zeros and ones (0’s and 1’s), even this library. It’s a matter of sending not any brief message, but the entire library itself, into the outer space, and wait, as it would travel with the speed of light far out there, maybe to any civilisation ten thousand light years away, in ten thousand years. We could be long gone, and our words, our language would always travel, as the mark of our existence.

The humanity might not survive, the library of babel shall. If not this civilisation, our language is to pass and wave forever.

Assecon

ASSECON
(Anonymous)

There must have been times when you would want to visit, or say kind of feel like being in someone else’s body, to see the world, to see yourself from the other person’s prospect or the vision, or to measure the joint functionality of both the brains and how you both would think simultaneously. Like, staring at a random person, an inferior, say, a beggar and imagining how he sees himself at the moment. At his situation. What is it? If there’s a slight nod from your side to it, what is that stops a feeling so intense? And most importantly, where does the boundary of us and our consciousness end? If the answer is, the boundary of the body itself, well then, what is it that let us imagine being in someone else’s shoes, and yet not own them?

Interesting maybe, but well, to move on and name the kind of a feeling we discuss, I tried and google the right word for it. There hasn’t been any, as what my thirty minutes of search says, the closest one quite familiar, ‘Empathy’. Or the feeling could be too personal to be bothered with any name? Let’s for the sake of this article, call it, ‘Assecon’, as seen from your consciousness.

As our race are being as they say, ‘impure’ over the years, we certainly have got our hands restricted to being touched to the certain powers that we might possessed at some point of the civilisation. And here I talk not of any flying human but the rational powers, the exchange of energies and thoughts, probably, the tool that would have, at times overcome the insufficiency of any spoken language. Though the vocabulary grew and the words filled the places of the feelings, for sure there would be a word for a feeling you and I share in the article and soon, it would be long gone. I don’t talk of Assecon but a more commercial one. There could be two ways of sharing a feeling, one, of the era we live in, to go to someone and tell them you are hungry or, to look them into the eyes and stare. And wait. Just to have any little idea of the purity and the intensity of the later one, try it someday with any animal, and believe me, to a certain extent, be it a fish in the pond.

Back to the point, what draws our boundary of the consciousness? The answer, well nothing. Its entirely infinite. And where do I stand in the world to talk of it or answer. Well, that’s where the line is drawn at the first place. To think of any such line. Let me simplify it a little.

Well, the moment your consciousness left your body to be in someone else’s, you never thought of crossing any line, it was to say, completely natural or believable to you. What the person would be thinking at the moment would of course be one of the many conclusion you might draw of the time you are being in him, or you are imagining being him. The line begins itself with a thought like, “But then, how would I know!”

You possess the power of Assecon already, like you possess the power of imagining yourself in being someone else.  Soon, that would be gone and the power the humans possess now would soon be like a dream or a magic. The awkwardness limits your consciousness. It’s way easy to write but to practice, but take it as a reminder, all still buries deep inside.

Yahoo Mail Update

YAHOO MAIL UPDATE
(Mayank Arora)

No harm in pulling the new strings to get the right tune and in the race to uprise in the concerts of technology, looks as if Yahoo ain’t gonna limp around anymore. Well, the latest update atleast promises, in some ways.

The once everything, Yahoo mail, looked as if, faded itself in some dark corner over the years, not to mention the little updates, yet the ones the giant Gmail had adapted before. Well, the new update does promises something to its audience, something unique enough to get its name back.

The Yahoo mail now supports third party emails like Google, Aol and outlook, providing an entire setup to all your emails at one place, along with all your contacts, your recent two hundred emails from each account and gmail archives. It doesn’t just stop there and provides 1TB cloud storage for free on a new yahoo account.

One terabyte. Has anyone been even remotely close to it? Slow claps, Yahoo. Brave move indeed.  The mail app. is available to download for iOS and android devices.

BEING

BEING
(Anonymous)
There's a being in us that rests until the life goes all normal. Without it being awake, a man lives inside a little crystal with all the basics. The being rises from new experiences, and as it awakens, it questions. Questions what happens while it sleeps. The being asks for his right to be called a human being. What has been your contribution to humanity? What made you marry? What secures your happiness beyond this little family and fortune?

There's no greater sleeping pill for that being than a 'secured future'. Or a degree that shuts the entire risk of rising from the mist. Or a bound time table. And as the ones who speak highly of a routine, mean nothing but of a way to shut that being until life gets itself secured. Yet the being does rise.

As the humanity progressed to excellence, the lust for a basic social life grew upto a point where it became the only purpose. While some struggles to fix in into their own little social ball of crystal, when the time was to actually manage and get out of it, for some, the life barely moves and ends as they live under the command of their hormones, waiting to be awarded with their 'bodily needs of fantasies'. The being sleeps unaware.

The Other Tongue (UK's Take On...)

THE OTHER TONGUE (UK's TAKE ON...)
(Lakshay Raja)

This ain’t much of our job to judge the political situation going around the nation for there are quite a million mouths already to predict the insides and the future. The thing we bother to talk of is more or less of an opinion to what we feel is a series of taunts and gossips (outside the borders) of our Prime minister’s foreign visits, hiding behind the overwhelms of our nation and the people.

I was close to what is called, being blown away, by how the evening went in Wembley on the Prime minister’s visit, followed by the way it was telecasted by the Indian media.

Yet as I see all of it, each moment of the evening and the speeches being telecasted over and again, and anywhere I looked around printed MODI, it looked as if the world talked of it. But then, it looked.

Oxford won’t congratulate you on your little research paper praised by your college and your society. If the research paper somehow gets into Oxford, won’t it be right to see how they react to it, before celebrating?

As my cursor circled to load UK’s leading e-journals, I expected the home page to be half filled with the relating stories of something our media had been pseudo celebrating. I checked. And scrolled. And browsed. And scrolled. And did find a small section in the category ‘opinion’ in ‘THE GUARDIAN’. Finally.

The headline read, ’The Guardian view on Mr. Modi’s visit.’

The article could be the voice of United Kingdoms, merged up with the words that showed domination. Here’s the link to the article:

I always feared of how the world sees our political rallies and the speeches that makes me hide and say, “That ain’t my country”. Or do they ignore what is being said back in our country for the vote back? Here are a few lines from the article that answers-

Mr Modi has been whirling around the world in the 18 months since he took office seeking to woo the 35 million-strong Indian diaspora. He wants their support, and to attract more of their investment and skills back to India. But he especially wants to stand tall in the eyes of the public at home who see him dazzling Indian audiences abroad

It further adds…

So Mr Modi includes what is essentially a political rally in most of his trips, packing out Madison Square Garden in New York, the cricket ground in Dubai, and today Wembley stadium. The people who listen to him don’t have Indian votes, but there are votes in them for Mr Modi all the same. These successes on the foreign stage help obscure setbacks and controversies in India, like recent electoral defeat in Bihar and the anger over his lukewarm response to the murder of a Muslim accused of eating beef.

The article further talks of how the image of the Indian prime minister and the rumoured involvement in the Gujarat riots could moderate his reception.

For a nation or a party to go around the world with something like ‘make in India’ would mean the same use of words and promises back in their own county as said or done globally. Each word being said in any of the rally by any party member in power counts on how the nation and the leader is received on foreign visits. The closest to the prime minister if says something controversial on rapes counts when the prime minister himself goes around to praise ‘selfie_with_daughter.’

A lonely cat walks outside its territory to greet the dogs and ask for peace. The least the other cats can contribute is behave, back at their own place.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: Movie Review

“How happy is the blameless vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd?”

For those who have not yet experienced how exactly it feels like to hold back to something that once changed your life. How exactly beauty turns out to be the ugliest form of truth you’ve known. How a man desperately tries to catch something he gave up with his own will. How once, you left, and never turned back could change the story of your life entirely. This movie completely justifies the fact that this life is all about the choices that we make.

It was hard to accept and take it for a truth that something could go as terribly wrong with something as pure as the sky. You know, ending exactly where you started. This movie has so less, yet so much to offer to you as it progresses. And of course, perspective. One could see exactly how a man, after looking back at what he is losing, desperately tries to fight back. Just to be able to keep bits of it. Once when you hated every bit of it, now you are ready to be happy with even a speck of it. And no matter how hard you try, things just fall back to their place somehow.

“This is the day we met. You were down by the surf. I could just make you out in the distance.

I remember being drawn to you even then. I thought, ''Wow, how odd. I'm drawn to someone's back. You were in that orange sweat shirt that I would come to know so well... and even hate, eventually. At the time I thought, ''How cool! An orange sweatshirt.''

Hi.

I saw you sitting over here... By yourself, And I thought, ''Thank God. Someone normal who doesn't know how to interact at these things either. Yeah. I don't ever know what to say.

I'm Clementine. Can I borrow a piece of your chicken?

And then you just took it... Without waiting for an answer. It was so intimate, like we were already lovers.

I'm Joel.

Hi, Joel. So, no jokes about my name.

You mean like--- Oh, my darling, oh, my darling…Oh, my darling Clementine -Huckleberry Hound, that sort of thing?

Yeah. Like that.

Oh, no jokes. No jokes. One of my favourite things when I was a kid was my Huckleberry Hound doll.

Oh. I think your name is magical.

This is it, Joel. It's gonna be gone soon.

I know.

What do we do?

Enjoy it.”

You’re simply gonna love that morning with the “thankyou” note and the attention turner doctor too. And as it progresses, make sure you don’t forget what just happened. And let me know how you feel when it ends.

NOW SHOWING - SOMEHOW... A MOVIE

NOW SHOWING - SOMEHOW… A MOVIE.
(Anonymous)

Why is it that the readers mostly end up hating a movie based on the novels they love? While I sit around with people and discuss their favourite novels and their movie adaptations, if there’s something that does come around at any point is, ‘Didn’t they just screw the novel up!’

This surely isn’t about the already known story being watched again, for if a friend tells me of an incident of how a random guy ended up embarrassing  himself, I would love to watch the video. In any case, there are movies we play over and again. When I am introduced to a character and described of how they behave, there aren’t many actors who can act on screen in a way our mind make those characters do. A little of anything over and there we go with our hands up.

Doesn’t it feel more of like a betrayal to squeeze the five hundred page of gold into a three hour of something? (Why don’t they name it - somehow… a movie?) If Tom comes out screaming, ‘I saw the best murder ever planned,’ there won’t be much of something that would tell him of what went inside the murderer through all this.

Visuals dominate the world, yet the words are more powerful. Even I end up spending more time on watching things than reading them. And coming back to what the point was - why is it that the readers mostly end up hating a movie based on the novels they love? There’s a world that a reader makes of his own while reading, and any disturbance to that reality does disturb him. Nevermind, thats an anonymous reader speaking.

What Is Being Written...

WHAT IS BEING WRITTEN...
(Lakshay Raja)

This page might have started of as a thought disposal room, or a place to burp your emotions out, in a hope to be heard by some; in any case, its not the same anymore.

As we roamed around, asking people to join in, in a hope to get some words rightly placed together, enough to have some meaning out of them; what we did see was atleast a terabyte of experience loaded and tagged ‘bullshit’. Of all what is being going around, or what your cells make out of what is being presented, your observations need to be spread out if you feel there’s a slight chance of them being a little different.

Have you been writing? In a diary that a publisher would love to get his hands on for anything? Keep waiting.

There’s an ocean of websites out there. The chance of a blog standing out is even less than the diary being found. If fifty of us write under our respective columns, yet on a same website, labelled differently, there is a way better chance of us being read. Or being watched. (Why not the videos?)

BROBITTS - BROadcast your BITS of work; for what is being written, must not be left unread.

THE UPCOMING HONDA B-RV

THE UPCOMING HONDA B-RV
(Chitvan)

The rising demand of the SUV segment in India has got Honda up for yet another notable launch - Honda B-RV, a mid SUV that shares its core with Honda’s compact crossover C-RV.

The GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show 2015 marked the launch of this much awaited beast. The first look of B-RV in India can be seen in Auto-expo 2016.

The familiar 1.5 litre i-Dtec and 1.5 litre i-Vtec engine, like its other peak sitters like Honda City powers the car and produces an apposite 100 bhp for the diesel variant, with a possibility of the update. It will have the similar wheel base that we have seen in Honda Mobilio.

Being late in the mid - SUV segment got the company to add the additional features to make it stand out to its competitors like Creta and Terrano. This includes the four wheel drive option that hasn’t been seen yet in the segment.

The other area where B-RV gives an answer to its rivals is the seating capacity. Where most of the cars in this segment are five seater, B-RV stands apart with an additional row of seat. This makes this compact SUV a 7 seater with the seats as that of the Mobilio.

Coming to the key element that decides the success or failure of a car in tough indian market, the price. Honda B-RV is expected to hit the indian market at a price range of between 10.2-12.4 lacs.

Its quite possible of the Honda B-RV having the similar variants as that of city, so lets wait to see another success story from Honda after its very own City.

BEING BLIND TO WHAT?

BEING BLIND TO WHAT?
(Lakshay Raja)

Andrew is eighteen and has been kept in a dark room for almost a month. He vaguely remembers him being the star in his high school, before he was brought into the room he is in now.

The room resides sixty others. Andrew is not physically tortured, he has barely been touched. But what he says or how he thinks or behaves is contradicted by the others every single time. Andrew doubts if he has ever been right. Andrew struggles to live.

In the early 1950’s began CIA’s illegal mind control program, ‘Project MKUltra’ that went on for more than twenty years before being halted.

Ted Kaczynski (sounds familiar?), a child prodigy was among twenty two students of Howard who were the research subject for the experiment. The subjects were shown some images and were asked to write down their thoughts of how they see the picture. The subjects were also to write their beliefs and aspirations. And as the experimentalists had predicted, Kaczynski was close to the best.

Later, Kaczynski was called for the test results. His ideas were read and laughed out. Ted was belittled based on his report. The experiment on Kaczynski went on for three more years.

Ted Kaczynski is serving an eight year sentence in a maximum security prison.Soon after graduating from Harvard, Ted settled down for a simple life, away from the access to even electricity. Between 1978 and 1995, he engaged in a nationwide bombing campaign, ultimately killing a total of three people and injuring 23 others.

Project MKUltra was more of a dummy scenario of what happens in most of the classrooms and workplaces. Andrew’s dark room is a corner in his classroom where he sits.

Contradicting on what a person says every single time, just to get the taste of dominance or discarding ‘his’ beliefs for you feel your ideas are more refined is like taking away a possible discovery or an idol from the world.

There’s an Andrew around you, being dragged into the dark room. Guess who should be the firewall? If there’s something in a person that bothers you, well, do I need to say more?
